PaySpace is a homegrown, cloud based HR and payroll solution, developed and managed by three Gauteng based brothers, which has gone on to secure more than 3,000 clients across 65 industries.
PaySpace bills itself as a payroll and “human capital management” system that’s robust and secure, with built in reporting tools, and designed to mitigate some of the complexities of managing a global or distributed workforce, particularly in Africa.
The system is geared for use in multiple countries and currencies, with current, countryspecific legislation and compliance rules in place for 37 African countries and five languages (so far). This makes it good for mining and heavy industry firms, for example, that have projects or resources deployed across the continent.
The benefits of this solution being 100% cloud based include the fact that users can access the system from anywhere, and that PaySpace can update elements such as tax requirements or security patches without onsite visits. But some enterprises still fear the cloud as they worry that it may pose a security risk, especially with sensitive information like payroll records.
PaySpace has built the system with security in mind, and has recently completed a rigorous process to achieve an international ISO accreditation to prove it. This stamp of approval, PaySpace is betting, will prove a draw card in an industry that’s being rapidly transformed by softwareasaservice.
Smaller clients (one to 10 people) can sign on for the Lite package, which starts at R11.18 per payslip (including
full leave management, basic HR, position management and employment equity). Fees are reduced as the number of people in an organisation increases.
There’s also a more comprehensive offering with all the capabilities mentioned here, priced from R24.60 per pay slip. Finally, PaySpace is available as a white label solution too, and can integrate with other major software packages.
