Embedded payroll payments for UK businesses

Deel Local Payroll has launched embedded payroll payments, giving UK businesses a simpler, more secure way to pay employees directly from the platform.

The new capability lets payroll managers and bureaus run payroll and pay every employee in a single step via Open Banking bank transfers. There's no need to export payment files, prefund separate wallets, or jump between systems. The entire pay run happens within Deel Local Payroll's workflow, from calculation to payment.

Why embedded payroll payments matter

For many UK businesses, payroll is still a fragmented process. Teams calculate pay in one system, then export files, log into banking portals, and manually upload payment instructions. Each handoff introduces delay and risk.

Embedded payments remove those handoffs. By keeping the full pay cycle within the platform, payroll teams get clearer visibility over outgoing salary payments, cut manual admin, and reduce the chance of employees being paid late or incorrectly.

Stronger security, fewer manual steps

The embedded approach also tightens operational security. Downloading, editing, and re-uploading bank payment files creates common failure points: manual data entry mistakes, incorrect beneficiary details, and version control issues. Removing that file-handling step eliminates an entire category of payroll risk.

How embedded payments work in Deel Local Payroll

Embedded payroll payments are powered by Crezco, a UK-based payments platform regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Crezco provides the underlying payment infrastructure, enabling secure bank-to-bank payments and real-time payment status updates within Deel Local Payroll.

The feature supports:

• Bulk salary payments across your workforce
• Secure bank authentication via Open Banking
• Flexible payment scheduling
• Real-time payment status tracking within the platform

Please note that Crezco supports a maximum of 500 transactions per payment batch. For larger customers, existing bank file exports remain available as an alternative payment method.
